DO-Touch.NET, A.T. Still Research Institute, and the Research Support Department faculty and staff hosted an Advancing Skills in Osteopathy Course the week of August 26, 2019. We were honored to share our knowledge, skills, and state of the art technology with our participating group of Brazilian Osteopaths! In our newly renovated lab, participants received the most scientifically advanced training in palpation worldwide by engaging in evidence-based presentations on the neurobiology of palpation, and utilizing objective feedback to refine and standardize their fundamental palpation skills.

DO-Touch.NET Welcomes the VOD to Kirksville
DO-Touch.NET is gearing up for our next Advancing Skills in Osteopathy Course beginning July 22, 2019. Nine members of the Verband der Osteopathen Deutschland e.V. (VOD) will travel from Germany to join us in the A.T. Still Research Institute for a full week of palpatory assessments, tours of osteopathic historic sites in Kirksville, MO, and many hours of congeniality and learning.

Schedule Your ASO Now!
Many of you have expressed an interest in an Advancing Skills in Osteopathy (ASO) Course specific for your organization/program/residency. We would like to identify and schedule those requests for the 2020 calendar year. In case you are not familiar, the Advancing Skills in Osteopathy (ASO) Program is a novel continuing education program that provides participants the most advanced series of training courses in palpation world-wide. The goal of the ASO program is to provide objective feedback using state-of-the-art instrumentation to assist motivated and skilled clinicians in osteopathic principles and practices. This course will refine and standardize clinicians’ skills and provide a personal, motivational experience of osteopathic history.
The ASO program features extensive hands-on training dedicated to providing objective feedback on the accuracy of each participant’s palpatory skills. Participants will develop strategies to improve performance and interpretation of techniques through mentorship with faculty, peer critique and self-directed learning with calibrated models. These courses range from 15-30 hours and will accommodate from 7 to 12 attendees. CME credit is available, but will need to be requested when the program is booked.
If you represent a department, organization, or residency that would like to attend one of our courses during a specific time, please let us know. We would be happy to design a program that would fit into your schedule and your individual learning objectives.

May 9-11, 2019, DO-Touch.NET Residency Advancing Skills in Osteopathy Course
We would like to thank all of those who attended our most recent DO-Touch.NET Residency Advancing Skills in Osteopathy Course (R-ASO). This was an extensive hands-on learning experience that gave participants immediate feedback and insight into their palpatory skills. Each course segment was presented with cutting-edge technology and generated much thought and discussion about the fundamentals that drives osteopathic training and palpation skills. This program enhanced the understanding of the science of palpation as it relates to the pelvis and spinal regions. Attendees commented that the event was a “top-notch program” and a “great experience”. If you are interested in attending one of our future ASO programs, please watch your email for additional course announcements. Our July and September ASO programs have already been closed; however, registration for our August 8-10, 2019 program will be opening soon.

FUN IN ORLANDO!!!!!
We had a great time attending the American Academy of Osteopathy Convocation in Orlando, Florida. Our DO-Touch.NET Residency Enrichment Program and the DO-Touch.NET Annual Meeting and Educational Seminar were filled to capacity. During this programming, we were also excited to announce our next DO-Touch.NET Advancing Skills in Osteopathy (ASO) course which will be held May 9 – 11, 2019. Occurring just prior to the AAO Convocation on Tuesday evening (March 12, 2019; 6:30 PM—9:00 PM at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, FL), DO-Touch.NET will sponsor a special research enrichment program highlighting novel approaches to advance research capacity within osteopathic residencies.
